The 17th-century subsidiary church of St. Jošt is located in Javorje at an elevation of 1,000 meters. It is dedicated to St. Jošt, the patron saint of pilgrims, the blind, and homes for the elderly, as well as the protector of grain against fire. No archival documents about the church have been preserved, but during its restoration the foundations of two earlier churches were discovered, revealing three developmental vonstruction phases. From the original structure, presumably from the 12th century, massive foundations of the northern, western and southern sides have been preserved, but during its restoration the foundations of two earlier churches were discovered, revealing three developmental construction phases. From the original structure, presumably dating from the 12th century, the massive foundations of the northern, western, and southern sides have remained. The second church was likely of Romanesque origin, as excavations beneath the fill of the present chancel uncovered the foundation of a Romanesque semicircular apse, as well as the foundations of the original altar table on the south side of the altar. During the excavations, an exceptionally thick layer of burned material was found on the foundation of the southern wall, indicating that the church had burned down.
